Recruitment Advertising: How To Apply For The Right Job

Recruitment advertising is a continuous activity for a growing company, particularly when the economy is doing well. Also, companies operating in specialized or niche areas and doing well are constantly on the look out for job applications from suitable staff as the availability of quality manpower will be limited. So how do companies recruit new staff? There are 3 ways of recruitment advertising…

1) Advertise in news papers in employment opportunities columns

2) Contact manpower agencies

3) Look through their file for previous job applications - if there is any previous history.

However, none of them are quick or inexpensive. Hence, if there is a way that cuts down on recruitment expenses or time for employers, they would go for it.

When you apply for a job as a prospective candidate in response to an ad, you are one among thousands of applications that the employer receives. Your chances of selection are as good as anybody else and it does not in anyway help you getting selected. Instead, if you can cut down the employers time and money in recruiting staff, then you may improve your chances. But how does one achieve it? For that a job seeker has to find companies that are looking for good staff. Companies that are growing fast, either small or big, are the ones that are most likely to need new staff.

Size doesnt matter or does it?

Many students and other job seekers routinely send their resumes to large companies thinking that they would be constantly requiring new staff that pays well. Large companies like Coca cola receives 10,000 unsolicited applications per year while Infosys, a NASDAQ listed company reportedly receives close to 100,000 applications in a year.

People apply to big companies even as they are shedding thousands of jobs. What would an employer think of receiving job applications even as the company is downsizing? Clearly the applicant has no knowledge of the companys business. Large companies are not necessarily large recruiters alll of the time. Even though it may look glamorous to work for large and famous corporations, the chances of finding a job in them are slim as they receive a large number of applications with regularity.

One thing to bear in mind is that small companies are growing faster than large corporations. Some are growing at the rate of 50% and more. A big company today was once a small outfit. Companies like Apple and HP were started in a garage. And imagine anyone willing to join them when they were working from a garage! Those who joined Apple in early days must now be millionaires with stock options and other benefits.

It is important to identify companies that are on the steep growth path, irrespective of their size, for improving chances of job applications being positively received. Companies whose growth has plateaued are no good as are companies that are on the downward curve. Hence a prospective job applicant has to consult people through networking and do market research on recruitment advertising before sending an application to a company large or small.

What a Private Investigator Can Do For You

There are several reasons for some people to contact and get the services of a private eye or private investigator. One of the most popular reasons would be to help in locating a missing or lost loved one, friend or family member.

Other reasons for seeking the services of a P.I. could be a client trying to find out if a spouse is cheating. Another one would be to lend a hand to law enforcement on some investigation or looking into business dealings that have gone bad.

Most professional private investigators that you will find are retired law enforcement officials trying out a private profession. Their experience in the police force is usually a big plus as they have more contacts and more experience in dealing with inside information for every situation.

Bigger private detective agencies usually have a large staff that can provide clients with multiple people working on individual cases at any one time. But such a service can have a considerable cost albeit they can help make the investigation proceed more efficiently. But regardless of whether a PI works alone or come from an agency, it is always wise to check out on the agency’s or individual’s credentials before hiring anyone.

There are opportunities available online today that will help you look for a private eye that will suit your needs. One of them is Privateeyelist, which offers a directory method in locating your ideal private investigator. A simple search in several search engines would be able to give you a lot of links to sites dedicated to investigative work as well as PI’s.

Bear in mind that these services always come at a price. Most private investigators charge by the hour for their services in addition to on the job expenses and other costs. These things can add up to a bit of an amount quite quickly and must be taken into consideration when you are considering including a professional private eye for a certain job that you want done.

Most modern PI’s would prefer to be known as “professional investigators” instead of “private investigators” or “private detectives”. This is a response to the negative and seedy image that has grown to be the perception of most people about the profession. It is also an effort for the PI’s to clean up their negative image and to establish and demonstrate the industry to the people that it is a proper and also a respectable profession.

Travel Nurse: Checklist (Salary and Benefits)

Several years ago I decided to quit my job as a charge nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and travel the United States as a travel nurse. The thought of being paid to visit the beaches of Hawaii and California or participate in the culture of New York City had become just too appealing. Looking back, there are several things I wish I had known prior to signing up with my first travel nurse agency. The following includes a checklist of some of the things I wish I had known from the beginning:

Salary
Being a travel nurse is very different from being employed by a hospital. First, travel nurses are paid considerably more hourly than regular hospital staff nurses. Although you may not view it this way, hospitals reward travel nurses with higher hourly pay because of the “sacrifice” the nurse is required to make in uprooting herself or himself from home and family. I didn’t necessarily view basking in the Huntington Beach, California sun on my off days as a sacrifice, but that is the way hospitals look at travel nursing.

Make sure your travel nurse agency is willing to negotiate the highest rate of pay for you before you sign a contract to take a travel nursing assignment. Don’t just take the first offer that comes along; you may be able to do better. Remember, travel nurse agencies get paid to fill hospital nursing vacancies. If one agency cannot fill the vacancy, another will. As a result, you need to make sure your agency is working to get you the highest possible hourly rate of pay and not just trying to beat the next agency to fill a vacancy. One suggestion I would make is to check with several different agencies and see which one offers you the highest pay rate. You may even be able to create a bidding war between the agencies for your services.

Second, most hospitals will pay for (or at least assist in paying for) your move to their city. This too is an issue you will need your travel nurse agency to negotiate for you. Third, most hospitals will also pay you a monthly housing stipend. In many cases, the stipend will only be paid if you are renting, but not if you buy a home in your new assigment location. The stipend is often tax free.

Checklist
You may also want to ask these questions to your travel nurse agency:
(1) Does the agency guarantee my assignment in writing?;
(2) Are my hours guaranteed?;
(3) Do I get paid weekly, bi-weekly or monthly?;
(4) Does the travel nurse agency pay me or does the hospital?;
(5) Will the hospital pay for my move; as is often the case?; and
(6) Will the hospital pay a stipend for my housing; as is often the case?

The truth about Job Recruiters and online Job Search

Nowadays, it’s almost an acquired skill to successfully search for jobs online. Job sites are more complex than ever, and instead of facilitating the job searches, they actually make the process more complicated.

Job seekers and employers are hit with a wave of information overload, which can be extremely overwhelming and confusing.” Finding great employment opportunities and that perfect candidate are sometimes lost if you don’t possess the correct knowledge when going online for your search.”

Also, users need to take into consideration that when looking for a job online they will most likely be dealing with a recruiter/headhunter. In fact, most of the Job Seekers we interviewed explained that when they apply for a job online, they hope they are dealing with the Employer directly, but most often end up dealing with a third party. Many of these Job Seekers express a feeling of disappointment when they realize they are dealing with Recruiters only, and not the Employers themselves.

After doing much research and reviewing most of the large job boards, we found that at least more then 65% of all postings were listed by Recruiters.

Most of the Job Seekers we interviewed explained that when they apply for a job online, they hope they are dealing with the Employer directly, but most often end up dealing with a third party. Many of these Job Seekers express a feeling of disappointment when they realize they are dealing with Recruiters only, and not the Employers.

www.NoMoreHeadHunters.com was created for employers and job seekers to interact directly with each other. This enables each of them to decide, on their own (without the interference of a third-party), whether or not they are a good fit.

We understand the frustration that comes from being bombarded by third-party companies, all competing to help you find an employee, and most falling short of getting the job done which is why we created www.NoMoreHeadHunters.com.

We also understand that finding and hiring a recruiter is sometimes more inconvenient than it is efficient. Add to this the amount of money you could be saving by dealing with the applicants directly, and by using the features our website offers at a fraction of the cost that more expensive job sites offer, and you find yourself saving time, money, and your sanity!

You Have Found The Perfect Job-Now Follow Up Part 1If you have been at the job search process for a while a good way to make contact with a company is to follow up. Overcoming Your Interview Nerves The Smartest Way

Interviews can be quite daunting; especially if you have not been to one for some time or if the last one was a bad experience. But overcoming your interview nerves is really quite easy if you apply your intelligence and do some realistic preparation.

Interview nerves tend to be worse when you know you haven’t prepared and have put off thinking about the very obvious questions they will ask. Have you ever noticed how much worse your nerves become when you repeatedly tell yourself “I’m going to fail this interview” or “I’m worried what they will ask me about”? Yet you can do some simple preparation very quickly.

What every interviewer wants to know fall into just 4 key areas:

* Why are you here?

* What can you do for us?

* What sort of person are you?

* Can we afford you?

So at the very least you must prepare for these four areas of questioning.

If they ask you “Why did you apply for this job?” in other words “Why are you here?” Your answer will be because you are interested in doing the job they described, you respect the company, are looking forward to the challenge and the chance to learn and develop new skills.

Next they will want to know what skills and experience you bring i.e. what you can do for them.

You will say that you bring all of your experience, your skills and your specific achievements and results which you will employ to their benefit. You should have a number of skill stories to illustrate these specific points ready prepared.

The most important thing on their mind after findingout if you can do the job is to discover if you are someone who has initiative and gets on well with others. Whether you will be flexible in your attitude to different ways of working; maybe find out if you are a great team player, or a strong leader. Try to avoid the “open-door” or “hands-on” type of response. Remember that ‘compatability’ is much more important than ‘competence’.

And finally can they afford you?

Are they willling to pay what you think you are worth? Salary negotiation is a difficult issue, but the point is you should have a feeling for what the remuneration is likely to be and show them that you bring value-for-money. If the salary is a lot more or a lot less than your recent earnings then you must be able to show convincing reasons why you are pursuing this job.

So for your smartest preparation which helps to overcome your interview nerves, all you have to do now is work out what questions they will ask to explore those 4 areas. If you mMake it at least 25 questions long and then carefully work out your own answers you will find your interview nerves recede.

With over 25 years running businesses, and as a Career Coach and Consultant in many sectors, Peter Fisher is well placed to guide job seekers through the steps needed in order to achieve that all important new position. He has personally coached thousands of individuals to career success.

Become a Mortgage Broker in Indiana - Indianapolis Mortgage Broker Information

You probably read the title of this article wondering why you would want to become a mortgage broker in Indiana? Or you might already have a great reason to become a mortgage broker and you are searching for information on how to become a mortgage broker.

I am going to give you my top 5 reasons to become a mortgage broker no matter where you are, and I will explain why Indiana is such a great choice for mortgage brokers.

Reason #1 The mortgage business is very lucrative

Think about it this way, a loan officer can make a six figure income each year, easily. If you have 4-6 of them working for you and they make six figures a year, think about what type of money you would be making. In order to make six figures as a loan officer you have to close 10-15 loans a month and create revenue for your company of about double what you make. That translates into an income for you, the broker, of over a half million dollars a year, not to shabby.

Reason #2 The mortgage industry will never go away

The only way the mortgage industry will disappear is if, somehow, everybody can afford to pay cash for their homes. That will never happen. We will always need houses and we will always need financing to buy those houses. This is pretty good job security, dont you think?

Reason #3 The mortgage industry only requires 40 hours of work a week

If you set up your business correctly you can offer your loan officers a lot of freedom to come and go as they please. Plus you can do the same. There is no reason for you to be open more than 5 days a week for 40 hours total. This means no overtime and no weekends of work. You can spend that time with your family where you belong.

Reason #4 Your advertising is simple and can be done by a third party or yourself

All you have to do to advertise is design a letter that is written to your potential customers. Then, you purchase a mailing list of homeowners in your area and send it out. Instruct your prospects to call your office if they are interested and then, sell the leads on one of your programs from one of your lenders.

I worked for a mortgage broker for 4 months and this is all they did. I sold more loans for them than I did for anybody else, and I never had to do any telemarketing at all. Loan officers will find their own referrals and lead if you dont make them do any cold calling. You can also purchase leads online for a good price and sell those.

Reason #5 You are able to help people with good or bad credit and you get a sense of pride from helping others

As humans we get a certain sense of joy from helping others. The thank you letters, hugs, and compliments you will get when you turn someones financial life around or help them buy their first house will amaze you. Sometimes this is enough and the money is just extra. This is by far the best reason to become a mortgage broker and the most rewarding

Now, why would I pick Indiana for my new mortgage broker business? Indiana is not flooded with mortgage brokers yet, which means the competition is not too crazy. Another great reason is because Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Terre Haute, and Muncie are all growing and so are the smaller cities around those areas.

There are also a lot of rural areas in Indiana, which means that if you can specialize in rural loans you can really enter into a niche market. It is very hard to get a good loan in a rural area because so many loan officers and mortgage brokers dont try hard enough to make these loans happen.

Now you have all my reasons for becoming a mortgage broker, and you have my choice for where I would open up at. Use this information along with some mortgage training and you will be well on your way to a new and very lucrative business.

Get the training you need in as little as 6 weeks. Become a Mortgage broker or a loan officer quicker than you could ever imagine. Follow the link below for the best online mortgage training you can find:

How To Change Careers Whatever Your Background

Thinking about changing your career… but worried that you may not have the background or qualifications to make the change?

In some cases, you’re right to be worried. Some careers do require you to possess specific qualifications and experience.

However… it could be that your concern isn’t warranted at all.

Actually, you may have “credentialitis” - you think you need some kind of credential to qualify you for
a promotion, new position or career change, when you actually have all the skills, talent and knowledge necessary.

Funny, really.

I always considered qualifications and credentials to be short-hand for skills and knowledge… but not the only “short-hand” and not necessarily indicative of the most valuable skills and knowledge.

For example, what if you’re an entrepreneur who left high school before graduating, launched a super-successful business which you ended up selling, and now want to be the marketing manager of a large, established company?

If you suffered from credentialitis you may believe that you aren’t qualified to become that marketing manager.

So much so that you seriously consider going to business school and enrolling in a marketing program.
Now, you may well benefit a lot from doing this… but was it really necessary to study for one or two
years to get that marketing job? Did you really lack the critical skills for the role?

Couldn’t you present yourself as someone with unequaled business experience, skills and knowledge - someone who has built and sold a company, as opposed to someone with theoretical knowledge acquired from a business school?

Now, of course, in some cases you will need to study and get a particular qualification to make a career change - for instance, if you want to become a dentist or mechanical engineer.

But in other cases, you probably have the fundamental knowledge and skills required for the new job…

and what you don’t know can either be picked up relatively quickly on the job or isn’t all that important.

I know, I know - you may be confident in your own abilities, but how do you convince a potential
employer who wants to see that certificate, diploma or degree? After all, it seems our entire society
has credentialitis.

But if we agree that this societal credentialitis is unnecessary and damaging (in the sense that skilled, knowledgeable and talented people miss out on jobs and careers to which they’re suited) then it’s up to you and I to change things.

What this means is - get confident! Know and feel - and communicate - that you have the skills and abilities for the new career.

But if you still wonder whether some kind of formal education might be necessary, answer the following:

Would the course or program genuinely teach you something new… or would it give you a piece of paper to prove what you already know?

Really, if you manage to overcome your credentialitis you’ll not save a lot of money, time and energy on unnecessary studies, but you’ll also become a happier, more fulfilled person.

If you are challenged over your lack of credentials you can “reframe” your background… so that it’s obvious that this has equipped you with the ideal background for the new job.

I, for example, was once questioned over my lack of an MBA. I explained that my background as an
advertising copywriter, marketing manager, commercial lawyer and business owner had given me a
real-world MBA.

Of course, you’ll find some people who just won’t “buy it” - they obviously have credentialitis themselves. In this case, it’s up to you whether it’s worth your while trying to convince them… or
whether you’re better off trying to work with people who aren’t so hung up on qualifications and
recognize true ability.

Also, try to look beyond credentials when it’s you who is doing the hiring. An individual who has years of hands-on experience may well be just as, if not more, qualified than someone with a specific certificate, diploma or degree.

Real Estate Agent Salaries

The real estate business can be a lucrative job option. However, the job of a real estate agent may not be a full-time career option for a large number of people. Real estate agents earn a cut whenever they successfully close a deal. They do not necessarily have to follow regular office hours, as business opportunities arise when clients approach them. Real estate agents may work as individual entities or collaborate with brokers or real estate firms. In some instances they are hired as salaried employees who receive a pre-determined pay irrespective of targets.

Freelance estate agents are not likely to earn regular paychecks. Most of them may be already earning a fixed salary elsewhere and earnings from real estate deals could be a source of additional income. Such dealers earn in proportion of the amount of income generated through their service when working with a broker or firm. Most single agents are free to decide their service charges based on the type of services provided when they are working independently.

Real estate agents earn commissions based on their business volume. Their commission amount is a set percentage of the money that transfers hands when a deal is made. Such deals revolve around purchase, sale, and rentals of real estate. For this reason, it is easy to understand why agents who are involved in high volume transactions earn a proportionately high income too. Commissions earned from certain exclusive and highly valuable property could equal the sum of several regular deals. It is difficult to put a figure on the amount of money agents earn, as it is dependent on their skill, luck, and commitment to the trade.

It is possible to earn more in bigger cities in comparison to smaller townships and cities. However, gradually real estate in small townships is also boasting of an increase in business volume. Real estate jobs continue to grow at par with other job opportunities since it is an established profit-making venture that brings in profits comparable to salaried jobs.
